Spring Equinox bursts forth with the exuberance of the young, playful, and new. Things start heating up here as the sun brings the active growing cycle, so get ready to plant your garden and your desires actively.

Just as the natural world awakens with fresh energy, you are invited to embrace your own inner child's joy and excitement for life. What delighted you as a child? Fire, the element of action, energy, and light, provides the life force that warms the earth and the crops for growth. As the solar force, it shows its yin/yang expression in the turning of day into night and night into day. Perhaps you need to balance your active outer world actions with more quiet, restful energy or balance your time indoors with more time spent in nature. You can ask internally what within you needs to be balanced now.

Honoring the dance of balance between light and dark, you could create a simple ritual to reconnect with the sense of magic and wonder you felt as a child. Spend time outside and let your senses guide you—feel the earth beneath your feet, smell the fresh blooms, and listen to birds and rustling leaves. This Wheel of the Year point is named after the Earth Goddess Ostara or Eostar. Since rabbits and eggs were sacred symbols of the fertile Goddesses, they are used in many Spring Equinox celebrations.
