Lunar Rhythm: Capricorn Full Moon

Elements: Full Moon in Capricorn, Earth • Sun in Cancer, Water

The full moon in Capricorn, with the sun in Cancer, offers a window of opportunity to connect to responsible nurturing. Capricorn functions as the most responsible sign of all the gates of awareness, and Cancer is dedicated to nurturing. Together, they will speak to you on multiple levels. Responsible nurturing begins on the personal level as Capricorn/Cancer reminds you to deepen your ability to take good care of yourself. In other words, put on your own oxygen mask before you help those around you. What messages does this duo have for you in relation to your own responsible self-care?

Next, the combination calls for you to take a look at your responsible nurturing of immediate family, friends, circle of influence, and business. With Capricorn, you not only have to look at where you need to take greater responsibility, but also at where you might be taking too much responsibility. Part of the job of this duo is determining how to responsibly nurture, which may include empowering others to take responsibility for their nurturance as well. In other words, instead of fishing for them and creating dependence, focus on creating independence, interdependence, and sustainability by teaching others to fish for themselves.

Finally, Capricorn calls for you to look at your responsibility in the larger context, to the planet, global relationships, and nurturing seven generations to come. This window provides a wonderful time to tune in and see how you can make a difference in the world. Create a prayer group to uplift those who may be suffering. Take food to the hungry. Any small step toward assisting the collective during this Capricorn/Cancer window will make a significant contribution energetically.

On each of these levels, Capricorn calls for solid steps toward responsible nurturing. So if you need to start with taking care of yourself, make an appointment for your health screenings, replenish yourself at the spa, or responsibly nurture your finances. To honor those around you, tune in to where you can appreciate someone who has taught you to fish for yourself, by thanking a teacher, your parents, or a friend who has helped you in a time of need. And globally, take at least one solid step toward responsibly nurturing humanity in this window.

Choose the one or two ideas you need most to work with, then focus on those. Intentions function best when there are only one or two to concentrate on in any cycle.

Embody Wholeness There is a saying that “all life matters.” Well, all life is matter. Matter is taken from the Latin root word mater, or mother. Any belief system that encourages the separation of spirit and matter can leave you feeling shameful about your body and disconnected from the Earth Mother. In many areas, humanity’s energetic disconnection from earth has been causal to our beautiful planet being stripped, left barren, and environmentally imbalanced. When you instead honor matter, you perform the developmental task of earth, embodying wholeness. From this place of wholeness you can bring spirit more fully into your body and your life. Ask Earth what messages it has for you to more fully embody wholeness? Relationship to Others Relationships tend to mirror your beliefs and emotional patterns. Thus, your relationships with others are primary ways water teaches you about yourself. When you learn to see your relationships as teachers, you take a giant step in the development of emotional maturity and your relationships often improve tremendously. How are your relationships with others teaching you? Additional Reflection Question: Where in your relationship to others do you need to take more responsibility for nurturing and embodying your wholeness? Have a blessed full moon, Lisa
