The magical Goddess gift of sisterhood can be found in families, a sacred priestess circle, or a heartfelt connection between friends. Time with other women enriches life, nourishes us, and strengthens our fundamental feminine essence.
Sisterhood can provide a safe environment to share our deepest thoughts and feelings. And in the best of times, it gives us a safe place to be seen, heard, and held by the nurturing support of other women. Unfortunately, it’s not always like this. Sometimes the shadow side of sisterhood surfaces, causing us to dig deep into the beliefs and feelings we have about ourselves and others.
Knowing both of these aspects of sisterhood express themselves in the relationship between women, it’s always important to ask ourselves if we are being the kind of sister we want to experience. We also want to clear and heal any old sisterhood wounds we may have, so our energy is clear, clean, and current for new sister connections.
We learn from the presence of other women what it means to be a woman. We uncover how to care for ourselves, tend to our feelings, listen to our body wisdom, strengthen our intuition, and access our inner guidance. When we take the time for sisterhood we come closer to our inner feminine nature.
Judith Duerk in Circle of Stones: Woman’s Journey to Herself asks, “How might your life have been different if there had been a place for you, a place to go to be with your mother, with your sisters and the aunts, with your grandmothers, and the great- and great-great-grandmothers, a place of women to go, to be, to return to, as woman? How might your life be different?”
This week, tap into the nourishing potency of sisterhood and ask yourself some questions.
– Do I need more time for sisterhood?
– How does time with other women nourish me?
– Do any of my sister connections need healing or clearing?
– How can I be a better sister to the women in my life?
Sending you sacred sister support.
PS… I just spent an amazing and deeply nurturing 5-days in Nuevo Vallarta with a dear priestess sister and business partner. We had insightful conversations, sweet time at the beach, volunteered at EntreAmigos, visited Our Lady of Guadalupe chapel and more in Puerto Vallarta. I share more about our sacred experience HERE.
