Your Creative Expression: Tenderness and Fierce Protection Required

Creative Expression Title

23392903_sOne glance at a full pregnant belly reminds us instantly of a deep truth of the human condition. We are creative beings. In our bodies, in our most sacred and holy core, resides the essence of pure creativity. In women, with the right germination, that essence of creativity is actually capable of producing another fully-formed life.

Creation motivates us in thousands of unseen ways every day. It’s our ability to create that assists us in choosing the ingredients of our day — what we’ll wear, which route we’ll take to the store, the meals we’ll prepare — each large and small action we take that shapes our lives and businesses. Yet, for most people the creative act expresses itself in largely unconscious ways.

In the Northern hemisphere, Imbolc is the cross-quarter Wheel of the Year point following Winter Solstice. Also known as Brighid’s day or Candlemas, it marks the starting point of spring. Here, you begin to subtly notice that the days are lengthening, and depending on the where you live, you may actually start to see signs of spring.

In colder climates, Imbolc may simply bring the promise of spring as the light of the sun slowly begins to increase. Tune in this year to the subtle shifts you notice in the air and light around and after Imbolc. What does it signal internally for you? What things do you get a renewed urge to do?

There’s a tribal saying, “If you can move, you can dance.” Dance is something we all have in common, like a heartbeat. And like a heartbeat, dance can help us come alive and activate our dreams, integrating and energizing them internally and externally.

Dance is a natural expression of emotion for us all. Toddlers dance to enlivening music, dogs dance when their “peeps” come home, our hearts dance with joy, and even leaves and trees dance in the wind. Dance can be structured, certainly. Yet the most natural dance of the body is what I would call “expressive dance” – movements that are inspired from within.

Dance is something we all have in common, like a heartbeat. And like a heartbeat, dance can help us come alive and activate our dreams, integrating and energizing them internally and externally.

This topic has a special place in my heart because I know the true value that dance can bring to life success and thriving workshop facilitation events.

I have had a lifetime devotion to dance: first as a dancer myself, then as a co-owner/director/primary teacher of a 500-pupil ballet school. And for the past 13 years, I have been helping my participants clear old energies out of their lives, activate what they want to bring into being, and integrate their learning in a very dynamically powerful way. If these actions are not experienced through the body, they are only partially accomplished.
